Los Angeles-based painter Mark Russell Jones' large-scale oil paintings follow the lineage of J.M.W. Turner, Mark Rothko and Gerhard Richter. Employing his skills in photography and drawing, Jones explores both mediums in "Sacred Imprint," which features muted earthy tones as a contemplation on the classical elements of air, fire, water and earth. "Hovering between abstraction and representation, my approach to painting is informed by my interests in geography, light and environment," the artist explains. CB2 exclusive.
