Designed by famed midcentury artist Evelyn Ackerman, elegant appetizer plates pay homage to the natural expressions of California midcentury modernism. Reproduced from an original woven tapestry by Ackerman, the distinctive stallion motif is applied by skilled artisans in Portugal with a reactive glaze to create subtle variations unique to each piece. CB2 exclusive.
Detroit natives Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman founded ERA Industries in 1956. For 50 years, the Los Angeles-based couple played a central role in shaping the California midcentury modern movement. In 1957, Evelyn began designing handwoven tapestries that could translate into ceramics. Presented in collaboration with Ackerman Modern, the pieces in this collection recreate the couple's iconic midcentury designs using original drawings and archival photographs.
