Designed by famed mid-century artist Evelyn Ackerman, our best-selling Corvo dinnerware pays homage to the natural expressions of California mid-century modernism. Reproduced from "Stallion," an original 1965 woven tapestry by Ackerman, the distinctive double stripe rim decal is applied by skilled artisans in Portugal with a reactive glaze to create subtle variations unique to each piece. CB2 exclusive.
Detroit natives Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman founded ERA Industries in 1956. For 50 years, the Los Angeles-based couple played a central role in shaping the California mid-century modern movement. In 1957, Evelyn began designing handwoven tapestries that could translate into ceramics. Presented in collaboration with Ackerman Modern, the pieces in this collection recreate the couple's iconic mid-century designs using original drawings and archival photographs.
