Using the same techniques developed during pre-Incan times, our best-selling Cusco textured terracotta vase is crafted entirely by hand by artisans in Chulucanas, Peru. Terracotta is shaped on a potter's wheel, then a netting is applied to create the distinct serpentine pattern before it's kiln-fired. Each vase is fired five times to achieve a rich blackened finish, the result of a special kiln that imparts the natural resin of mango leaves onto each piece. Because the process is so labor intensive, only 20 pieces are made each day. Finished with an interior waterproof varnish, the vase is perfect for dried and fresh stems alike. CB2 exclusive.
